About The Story Lantern

The Story Lantern began at home.

It started with bedtime conversations and a simple desire: to help my children see the Bible not as a distant book of names and events, but as stories they could imagine themselves being part of.

When children can see themselves inside the story, they begin to believe they belong in it.

Stories told from the inside.

The Story Lantern is a growing collection of illustrated books inspired by the great stories of Scripture, each one told through the eyes of a fictional child who witnesses it firsthand.

These are original stories, not retellings. The biblical moment stays exactly where Scripture placed it. What each book adds is a child standing inside that moment, and everything a child would carry there.

The questions.
The fears.
The wonder.
The small, human moments that make faith feel real.

These are stories about faith before the rain falls.
About trust between the waves.
About courage that looks quiet.
About waiting for a promise, and learning that God keeps every one.

Made to be read together.

Every illustration is crafted to feel immersive and warm, rich enough that a child who cannot yet read a word can follow the whole story from the pictures. Every page is written to be read aloud, and to invite the conversations that follow.

The Story Lantern is created for children, and the adults who read with them.

For bedtime.
For quiet afternoons.
For families building faith together.

The collection so far.

The Old Testament Collection spans ten books across two volumes, reaching from the very first light of Creation to the last promise of the Old Testament.

My hope is that The Story Lantern becomes more than a series of books. That it becomes a light families return to again and again.
